The Center for Human Performance, a 6,000 square foot joint venture between Houston Methodist Hospital and Rice University is a state-of-the-art facility focused on clinical research and baseball biomechanics.

THE CHALLENGE
Combining clinical biomechanics and sports science research creates a lot of data throughput required at a very quick pace. Many different lab setups and technologies are required for this.

THE SOLUTION
Houston Methodist blur these boundaries with their Vicon integrative system. They dive deep into different applications and make a difference in injury prevention and rehabilitation of both athletes and general population subjects.
"We have a pretty large system, especially from a life sciences perspective. We’re trying to take advantage of that, using motion capture capabilities in conjunction with other technologies so that we can validate them for these and other applications.”
Jordan Ankerson, Clinical Research Engineer

SET UP
10 Valkyrie VK16 cameras, 12 Vantage V16 cameras, two Vue cameras, Vicon Nexus, integrated baseball nets, raised force platforms, bone density quantifications, metabolic analysis carts, cardiovascular screening, and aerobic performance testing.
